Freedom Atlantic Inc. marked a significant occasion by dedicating a conference room to Albert Rogel, a decorated U.S. Army veteran and a revered figure in both military and civilian communities. The dedication ceremony, held at the company’s Ohio location, brought together employees, friends, family, active and retired military personnel, and special guests to honor Rogel’s exceptional life and legacy.

Albert Rogel’s military service is distinguished by acts of extraordinary bravery. As a 3rd Infantry Division soldier in WWII. Rogel earned the Silver Star, one of the nation’s highest military decorations for valor in combat. His citation read:

Subsequently, while extinguishing burning white phosphorus shells, he sustained second degree burns in the hand. Despite this added injury, Private First Class Rogel carried a complete light machine gun four miles to the line of departure when his company resumed its attack at dawn.

Rogel’s impact extended far beyond his military service. In 2016, the Cordova Council recognized him as a “Hometown Hero” for his extensive community involvement and dedication to supporting veterans. The Council praised Rogel for his “selfless dedication to others” and his unwavering commitment to mentoring young service members and fostering a sense of camaraderie and service in his community.

Following his military career, Rogel continued to influence those around him until his passing in May 2024. His obituary, published in the Sacramento Bee, reflected on his enduring legacy of service, noting that he was not only a hero on the battlefield but also a beloved figure in his local community. His passing left a void, but his memory continues to inspire those who knew him and those who learn of his story.

During the dedication ceremony at Freedom Atlantic Inc., the company’s leadership spoke of Rogel’s lasting influence on their mission and values. In his speech, the company representative highlighted Rogel’s exemplary service and the profound impact he had on the lives of many.

“Albert Rogel exemplified the courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment that define our greatest generation. His bravery on the battlefield ensured the freedoms we hold dear today, and his legacy of service continues to inspire us all. As the grandfather of our esteemed Vice President of Products, David Martchinske, Albert’s spirit lives on within our company.”

The newly christened “Albert Rogel Conference Room” is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and designed to be a space where strategic discussions and innovations take place—qualities that Rogel himself embodied. A commemorative plaque at the entrance of the room details his military honors and contributions, serving as a constant reminder of the values he upheld.

The ceremony concluded with a moment of silence in honor of Rogel and all service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Attendees then gathered for a reception, sharing stories of Rogel’s life, his impact on their careers, and the lessons they continue to carry forward.
